Ehemaliges Rundfunkgelände Nalepastraße Traditional Geocache

Der Rundfunk der DDR hatte sein Aufnahme- und Sendezentrum seit den 1950er-Jahren bis zu seiner Abwicklung 1991 an der Nalepastraße im Bezirk Berlin-Köpenick an der Spree. Auf dem über 40 ha großen Gelände fällt der rote Ziegelbau mit den Aufnahmestudios besonders ins Auge. Sie sind wegen ihrer herausragenden Akustik bis heute begehrt. Auf etwa einem Drittel der Fläche hat inzwischen eine Berliner Fahrgastreederei ihre neuen Hafenanlagen errichtet.

The recording and broadcasting centre for the East German radio network made its home on Nalepa Street in the district of Berlin-Kopenick along the Spree River from the 1950s until its doors closed in 1991. The red brick building housing the recording studios is a particularly eye-catching structure on the 40-ha site. Because of their exceptional acoustics, the studios remain popular to this day. About one-third of the site now serves as the new harbour facility of a Berlin-based passenger ferry company.
