On the southwest portion of the estate grounds sits the gardener’s house. Constructed 1900-01, the gardener’s house was the residence of William Blair, Sr. and his family, and then of Edward Brooks and his family. Both were the supervising gardeners for the estate on the west side of Old Post Road. Today, the gardener’s house is a residence for employees of the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation.
