Plan to stop by a new CITO location for us this year, Loomis Lake County Park from 10 to 11 am on Sunday, September 16 -- on your way out of town or on your way to more caching adventures -- to help clean up one of our local parks and earn one more event smiley for the weekend!
Note: This is NOT the State Park, this is the park on the east side of the road whose entrance is about one quarter mile north of the State Park -- follow the posted coordinates!
The park is about a 10 minute drive north from the Sunday morning breakfast buffet event, Whistlestop Breakfast (GC7KCYZ). The park offers plenty of parking, a pit toilet, and a peaceful setting along the shore of Loomis Lake. Your well-behaved dogs are welcome! Trash bags, gloves, and hand sanitizer will be provided. If you have other tools, like litter grabbers or tongs, you're welcome to bring those along.
Last year, we collected a big pile of trash and some tires at another local county park, leaving the park in great condition and earning high praise from the county parks officials. Let's do another great job this year to show our love for Long Beach!
This CITO event is being co-hosted by the Washington State Geocaching Association - Southwest chapter, and funbeach.
