🇺🇸 Catfish Bridge 🐟
The railroad bridge close to the administrative building of the ChNPP is now used for feeding catfishes living in the cooling channel. The cooling system, including the cooling pond and two cooling channels, was constructed for purposes of the Chernobyl NPP. The pond was created on the basis of the old bed of the Pripyat River where a lot of fishes inhabited. Catfish is the biggest of them. Going back from lunch the power plant workers passed the railroad bridge and dropped pieces of bread to the channel, so catfish would lure to this place. Now the cooling channel is divided from the cooling pond by a dam and only eight gigantic catfish have left. But their size is not an effect of radiation. This species of fish grows all its life having enough food, and nowadays every day crowds of guests feed them from the railroad bridge.
🇺🇦 Міст сомів 🐟
Залізничний міст, що знаходиться недалеко від адміністративної будівлі ЧАЕС, в даний час використовується для годування сомів, що проживають в каналі системі охолодження. Дана система, разом зі ставком для охолодження води з реактору та двома каналами була збудована для цілей Чорнобильської АЕС. Ставок було створено на базі старої пойми річки Прип'ять, де мешкає багато риб. Соми є найбільшими з них. Повертаючись з обіду, робітники електростанції, які проходили залізничний міст кидали шматки хліба в канал, щоб приманити сомів. Наразі, канал охолодження відгороджений від основного ставка дамбою і у ньому залишилось лише вісім гігантських сомів. Однак їх розмір не є результатом впливу радіації. Соми ростуть все життя, тим паче з такою кількістю їжі. Кожен відвідувач прагне погодувати їх!
