A chance to socialise with other cachers and hear a bit about our plans for the Winter Geolympix Mega which is being held at Ashridge Estate, Berkhamsted, Herts on Saturday October 27th 2018.
Where: The Five Horseshoes, Upper Maidensgrove, Henley-On-Thames, Oxfordshire, RG9 6EX. Phone 01491 641282. Room 20+ people reserved. Please say how many you are in your Will Attend logs to help me ensure the pub is ready for us! It's all booked with Dan. If the location is familiar, I held an event here in 2008.
When: Wednesday the 30th of May 2018, from 6.30pm 'til 8.30pm (pub closes at 9pm).
What: A gathering of cachers to talk caching, swap travel items (anything to leave the country? I'm off to Italy before long) and caching stories, and enjoy the venue's hospitality. Well-behaved dogs are fine in the bar area and they do welcome children. There's also free wifi. In many ways the follow-up event to last month's Winter Geolympix Countdown 6: Surrey seems to be [the hardest word].
Why: The Winter Geolympix Countdown cache events are roadshow meets to promote the Winter Geolympix and talk about the plans we have for the best (tbc) Geocaching event of 2018! There's awesome night caching, stalls and stands, quirky photo-op caches, Europe's 9th oldest cache (England's 2nd oldest, UK's 3rd oldest) plus the UK's oldest Puzzle cache, the National Series Caches Challenge and much, much more!
Also: A theme of the Winter Geolympix is old caches - England's oldest (UK's 2nd oldest), GC171, is close by - and we'll have freebies to give out, plus goodies to buy if you'd like to help support the Mega. No pressure.
