F27 #1 - Our very first cache!
We are a group of 27-year olds recently moved to Manchester and in the process of discovering everything this great city has to offer.
Deansgate (road) and A56 pretty much refer to the same thing, except at this very peculiar side road, where Deansgate and A56 temporary split, with the A56 naturally continuing on as the main road, and this side road becoming 'just' Deansgate. On this stretch, you'll find some apartment buildings, the construction site where Deansgate Square is being built (two new skyscrapers ready for 2019) and also the Castlefield Gallery.
So even though this road is called 'Deansgate', and it is part of Deansgate, it is very much a mix of Castlefield, the Deansgate Locks, and the southern-most start of the main Deansgate district.
Deansgate as a main road runs largely North-South in a straight line in the western part of the city centre and here is where you'll find the neighbouring Deansgate-Castlefied tram station and the Deansgate train station, both handily taking you into Piccadilly station.
About the Cache
This cache was inspired by a trip earlier in the year to London where a similar shaped cache was found after much effort was expended. Over 140 caches later, and we are still impressed by its similicity and yet its steganographic quality (hiding in plain sight) was very appealing. As soon as we moved to Manchester, we bough this cache and searched for an ideal place to put it.
The cache itself is in a very visible location, and many people walk by it everyday.
The key to solving the cache is to try and spot something that looks out of place.
