Der kleine Luchs | The little lynx (Description in English see below)
Der Luchs lebte einst überall in Europa. Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts wurde er in Deutschland leider ausgerottet. Doch er überlebte in wenig besiedelten Gebieten der Karpaten, in Russland und Skandinavien. Inzwischen hat der Luchs sich seinen Weg zurück nach Deutschland gesucht und wurde auch hier im Schwarzwald gesichtet. Der Schwarzwald ist, wie auch die Vogesen oder das Schweizer Jura, ein idealer Lebensraum für den Luchs.
Der eurasische Luchs wird im Volksmund auch liebevoll "Pinselohr" genannt. Er ist die größte europäische Raubkatze. Menschen bekommen ihn nur ganz selten zu Gesicht, da er sehr scheu ist.
Ende Mai / Anfang Juni bringen die Luchs Weibchen unter einem Wurzelstock oder einem Felsüberhang etwa 1 bis 3 Junge zur Welt. Sie sind bei der Geburt blind, jedoch schon vollständig behaart. Nach etwa 10 Tagen können die Kleinen sehen und tapsen schon neugierig umher. In den ersten zwei Monaten trinken sie nur Muttermilch. Erst danach ernähren sie sich von Mama's Jagdbeute und gehen noch etwas später mit auf die Jagd. Bis zum Alter von 10 Monaten werden die Jungen ausschließlich von der Mutter geführt und angelernt. Da Luchse Einzelgänger sind, lebt der Vater nicht bei der kleinen Luchs-Familie. Wenn die kleinen Luchse ausgewachsen sind, suchen sie sich ihr eigenes Revier und legen dabei auch sehr weite Strecken zurück. Das Jagdrevier von einem männlichen Luchs beträgt etwa 150 - 200 qkm, von einem weiblichen Luchs etwa halb so viel.
Wir haben für "den kleinen Luchs" ein Waldstück ausgesucht, von dem wir glauben, dass auch Mama Luchs sich dort wohl fühlen würde.
Bitte betretet den Wald vorsichtig, achtet auf den Erhalt der Natur (z. B. junger Pflanzen) und verhaltet Euch möglichst ruhig, um die Waldtiere nicht zu stören.
Der Cache hat die Grösse „small“. Kleine Gegenstände können getauscht werden und Trackables finden auch Platz :-)

The little lynx
The lynx once lived throughout Europe. Unfortunately in the middle of the 19th century he was exterminated in Germany. But he survived in sparsely populated areas of the Carpathians, in Russia and Scandinavia. Meanwhile the lynx has searched his way back to Germany and was spotted here in the Black Forest too. The Black Forest is, like the Vosges or the Swiss Jura, an ideal habitat for the lynx.
The Eurasian lynx is also popularly called "brush ear". He is the biggest European cat of prey. People rarely see him because he is very shy.
At the end of May / beginning of June the lynx females give birth to about 1 to 3 cubs under a rhizome or a rock overhang. They are blind at birth, but already completely hairy. After about 10 days the little ones can see and walk around curiously. In their first two months they only drink breast milk. After then they feed on Mama's food too and go hunting with her some time later. Until the age of 10 months the little lynx are exclusively led and trained by her mother. The father does not live with the little lynx family because lynxes are loners. When the little lynxes are mature they look for their own territory and cover therefor very long distances. The hunting area of a male lynx is about 150 - 200 sq km, of a female lynx about half as much.
We have chosen an area for "the little lynx" which we believe that mother lynx feel well there too.
Please enter the forest carefully, pay attention to the preservation of nature (eg young plants) and behave as calmly as possible so that you do not to disturb the forest animals.
The cache has the size "small". So small items can be trade and trackables find place too :-)
