Rufus and Janet met up one day at the Starbucks. Rufus had just come from a magic show and Janet had been figure skating. They were talking about what they had done that week. Janet managed to go to the zoo. Rufus asked if she got any balloons and she said no. “I’m surprised”, said Rufus, “last time I was there I got balloons.” Janet didn’t have a lot of time because she had to rocket off to school to pick up her kids from elementary school, although they were talking about splitting the school in half. Rufus was heading off to the grocery store soon. He wanted to get some lettuce, but heard that something had fallen off a produce truck that morning. Before you knew it, ready or not, they had to go.
The next day, Janet was back at Starbucks for her morning coffee and met her friend Windy (she tended to be a bit long winded!). Windy was talking, as she most often did, about her friend, who was Delilah’s husband. At one point, she lost track and repeated her same story about Delilah’s husband. Her friend was both her hero and a fat cat. He had been born under a lucky star. But he had been skating on thin ice recently and fell through. Well, that’s definitely not going to land him on Santa’s nice list. “Shoot”, Windy said, “gotta blow.”
