Geocache Description:

This spring is situated next to the Siatorska Bukovinka stream, source of which is by the Western edge of the Medves Plateau. The Krúdy-spring feeds the ponds that were created at the beginning of the 20th century and were used for the farming of fish. The spring was named after dr. Gábor Krúdy, who led the renovations of the castle and who suggested that the spring should also be renovated in 1987. At the time of the renovation they also built some fish-steps, for the fish to be able to move between ponds. The small ponds are fed by the water of the Macacia layer-spring created by the volcanic lava. The average volume of the spring is 0,3 l/s. The mineral content of this water is rather low and unfortunately it is not suitable for continuous consumption due to its high nitrate content. However, should you feel thirsty, partaking of a glassful will do you no harm.
