12:00pm to 3:00pm (may run a little bit later)
Where: Historic Boys Dorm

Lac du Flambeau, WI 54538
What: This is our first event in the area and is free for anyone who would like to participate. Introduction to geocaching will teach you all about this fun, family friendly, exciting, and inclusive activity! We will also show you the basics of geocaching and how to sign up and find geocaches using a GPS or a Smartphone. Participants are encouraged to bring their phones to download the geocache app- but can also sign up using our computers. Wifi is available. We will also have a some fun outdoor activities for kids and adults: a geocache container decorating station for future geocaches, a geocache photo scavenger hunt, and bean bag toss. Note: only one GPS enabled device is needed for each group participating in the scavenger hunt.
This event is for all who would like to learn about geocaching and we invite veteran geocachers as well. Your expertise will be greatly appreciated! You will also earn a “CITO” (Cache In Trash Out) Pin by attending this event.
Permanent and temporary geocaches will be placed around the community a couple of weeks prior to the event (once the snow melts). These will take you to historical, cultural, and recreational places of interest.
And while we are all outside for this event, we will also conduct a community spring cleanup! (along the geocache scavenger hunt route). This will be a great way to do our part in helping keep our Mother Earth clean!
Prizes and gifts for participants!
