Dans le bain ou l’arène ?
Présentation
L'arène c'est un mot ancien – dans un ouvrage du Morvan voisin daté de 1878 on trouve : « crô d’areine » - c’était un trou d’où était tiré du sable - désigne simplement le sable, mais les géologues et les géomorphologues apportent davantage de précisions.
Le sens a été restreint en l’associant au granité : arène granitique.
C'est un sable dans lequel on retrouve de manière reconnaissable les composants du granite. en effet le sable est plutôt grossier plus ou moins mêler d'argile qui provient de la destruction du granite.
L'eau est le principal agent de cette altération en pénétrant dans la moindre fissure ou diaclase : elle dissout, oxyde et hydrolyse la structure du minéral. Son action est renforcée par son pouvoir corrosif qui s'est développé lorsqu'elle était pluie et qu'elle s'est chargée au contact de l'air ou encore des végétaux.
Sur le terrain
Au-dessus du granit saint, la roche a perdu sa solidité bien qu'elle reste cohérente elle se défait sous le simple pincement des doigts.
Les cristaux qui résistent se détachent alors que les plus fragiles s'effrite ce qui donne une phase fine, argileuse.

Presentation
The arena is an ancient word - in a work of the neighboring Morvan dated 1878 we find: "crô d'isine" - it was a hole from which was drawn from the sand - simply designates the sand, but the geologists and geomorphologists provide more detail.
The meaning has been restricted by associating it with granite: granite arena.
It is a sand in which the components of the granite are recognizable. indeed, the sand is rather coarse, more or less mixed with clay, which comes from the destruction of the granite.
Water is the main agent of this alteration penetrating into the least crack or diaclase: it dissolves, oxidizes and hydrolyzes the mineral structure. Its action is reinforced by its corrosive power that developed when it was rainy and that it was charged in contact with air or plants.
On the floor
Above the holy granite, the rock has lost its solidity although it remains coherent it is undone under the simple pinching of the fingers.
The crystals that resist are detached while the most fragile crumbles which gives a thin, clay phase.
