Colònia Sant Jordi
Dedicamos este caché a agradecer los numerosos e interesantes caches alrededor de Mallorca. En nuestro GC Tour desde de diciembre de 2017 hasta principios de marzo de 2018, hemos buscado en esta área más que 500 caches y encontrado la mayor parte de ellos.
Este caché se encuentra a pocos metros de nuestro apartamento, que nos permite una maravillosa vista al puerto, a muchas pequeñas islas y a Cabrera, la isla más grande de Mallorca.
Colònia Sant Jordi es un pueblo de pescadores original y pertenece al municipio de Ses Salines. Los restos de los talayots (edificios megalíticos de la Edad del Bronce del siglo IX aC) dan testimonio de la existencia de la agricultura, la pesca y la ganadería. Sa Vall son las segundas más antiguas salinas del mundo en las que ya IV aC la sal fue minada. Para los romanos, bizantinos, árabes y cristianos, el oro blanco fue de gran interés y dio el nombre a la comunidad.
Hoy Colònia Sant Jordi vive del turismo. Es un pueblo que tiene algo que ofrecer en invierno: hermosos paseos en la playa natural más larga de la isla "Es Trenc", una variada selección de restaurantes, muchas tiendas abiertas. Guardaremos esta etapa en nuestra memoria :-)

With this cache we would like to thank for the many interesting caches in Mallorca. On our GC Tour from December 2017 to the beginning of March 2018, we searched in this area for more than 500 caches and found most of them.
This cache is located a few meters from our apartment, giving us a wonderful view to the harbor, to many small islands and to Cabrera, the largest island of Mallorca.
Colònia Sant Jordi is an original fishing village and belongs to the municipality of Ses Salines. The remains of Talayots (megalithic buildings from the Bronze Age about 9th century BC) testify the existence of agriculture, fishery and cattle breeding. Sa Vall are the second oldest salt pans in the world where salt was mined already in the 4th century BC. For the Romans, Byzantines, Arabs and Christians, the white gold was of great interest and gave the name to the community.
Today Colònia Sant Jordi lives from tourism. It is a village that has something to offer even in winter: beautiful walks on the longest natural beach of the island „Es Trenc“, a varied selection of restaurants, many open shops.
We will keep this time in the best of memories :-)

Mit diesem Cache möchten wir uns für die zahlreichen, interessanten Caches auf Mallorca bedanken. Bei unserer GC-Tour vom Dezember 2017 bis Anfangs März 2018 durften wir auf der Insel mehr als 500 Caches suchen und den grössten Teil davon finden.
Dieser Cache liegt wenige Meter von unserer Ferienwohnung entfernt, die uns einen wunderbaren Blick auf den Hafen, die vielen kleinen Inseln und Cabrera, der grössten Insel von Mallorca, geboten hat.
Colónia Sant Jordi ist ein ursprüngliches Fischerdorf und gehört zu der Gemeinde Ses Salines. Die noch vorhandenen Reste von Talayots (megalithische Bauten aus der Bronzezeit etwa 9. Jhd v. Chr.) bezeugen, dass es bereits damals Landwirtschaft, Fischerei und Viehzucht gab. Die „Sa Vall“ sind die zweitältesten Salinen der Welt, in denen schon im 4. Jhd v. Chr. Salz abgebaut wurde. Für Römer, Byzantiner, Araber und Christen war das weisse Gold von grösstem Interesse und gab der Gemeinde den Namen.
Heute lebt Colònia Sant Jordi vorwiegend vom Tourismus. Es ist ein Dorf, das auch im Winter etwas zu bieten hat: schöne Spaziergänge am längsten Naturstrand der Insel „Es Trenc“, ein abwechslungsreiches Angebot an Restaurants und viele offene Läden.
Wir werden diese Zeit in bester Erinnerung behalten :-)
