Le Beffroi de Tournai
Le Beffroi de Tournai est le plus ancien de Belgique (XIIe siècle). Inscrit sur la liste du patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO, il domine la Grand-Place du haut de ses 72 m. La montée de ses 257 marches vous fera découvrir les salles occupées par les expositions didactiques, le cachot, la chambre du carillonneur et le carillon qui teinte à travers la ville tous les dimanches en période estivale (vers 15h30).
Erigé en 1192, le beffroi de Tournai symbolise les libertés communales. Sa cloche ("la Bancloque") avertissait la population des procès et exécutions, invasions, incendies,... Le beffroi servit de tour de guet, prison, clocher et hôtel de ville. Le sommet offre le plus beau panorama de Tournai et de ses alentours.

De novembre à mars de 10h à 12h et de 14h à 17h (ancien horaire valable jusqu'au 31 mars 2015).
De novembre à mars de 9h30 à 12h et de 14h à 17h (nouvel horaire valable à partir du 1er novembre 2015).
Le beffroi est fermé le lundi et le dimanche matin.

Attention : la caisse ferme trois quarts d'heure avant l'heure de fermeture du beffroi mais reste accessible au public pour fournir d'éventuelles informations.
La cache :
Entrez dans le Beffroi et dites que vous venez pour le Geocaching à la personne de l'accueil. Donnez lui le code GC pour bénéficier d'une réduction ! GC7JKXA
Ensuite, montez jusqu'à la Chambre de Musique, trouvez la boîte dissimulée dans la pièce, prenez une lettre et remettez-la au gardien qui vous donnera la vraie boîte !

Het belfort van Doornik is het oudste van België (12de eeuw). Het gebouw, dat deel uitmaakt van het werelderfgoed van UNESCO, is 72 meter hoog en domineert de Grand-Place. Tijdens de beklimming van de toren met zijn 257 treden ontdekt men verschillende didactische tentoonstellingen, de gevangenis, de kamer van de beiaardier en tot slot de klokken die tijdens de zomer elke zondag van zich laten horen (rond 15.30 u.).
Het belfort van Doornik, gebouwd in 1192, staat symbool voor de gemeentelijke vrijheden. Zijn klok (de "Bancloque") werd gebruikt om de bevolking te waarschuwen voor processen, executies, invasies, brand, enz. Het belfort deed dienst als wachttoren, gevangenis, klokkentoren en stadhuis. De top biedt een adembenemend zicht op Doornik en haar omgeving.
Van 01/11 au 30/03 : elke dag van 9.30 tot 12.00 en van 14.00 tot 17.00 (sluiting van de kassa om 16.45) behalve op zondag van 14.00 tot 17.00.
Van 01/04 tot 31/10 : elke dag van 9.30 tot 12.30 en van 13.30 tot 17.30 (sluiting van de kassa 16.45).
Gesloten op maandag.
Let op: de kassa sluit driekwart uur vóór de sluitingstijd van het belfort, maar blijft voor het publiek toegankelijk om informatie te verstrekken.

Ga het Belfort in en zeg dat je voor de Geocaching komt naar voor de persoon van de receptie. Geef hem de Gc-code om korting te krijgen ! GC7JKXA
Ga dan naar de Chamber of Music, zoek de box verborgen in de kamer, neem een brief en geef deze aan de bewaker die je de echte doos zal geven !
Respecteer alstublieft de plaats en degradeer niets ! Camera's zijn hier om je te bekijken.

Dating from the 12th century, the belfry of Tournai is the oldest in Belgium. It is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With its height of 72 m, the belfry dominates the Grand-Place square. While climbing the 257 steps to the top, you will discover educational exhibits, the dungeon, the bellringer’s room and the peal of bells itself, which can be heard in the entire city on Sundays in the summer season (at 3.30 pm).
Constructed in 1192, the belfry of Tournai was the symbol of communal liberties. Its bell (the "Bancloque") informed the citizens of trials and executions and warned them of invasions, fires... The belfry was used as watchtower, prison, bell tower and town hall. At the top, you can enjoy a breath-taking view of Tournai and its vicinity.
OPENING TIMES
From 01/11 to 30/03 : everyday from 9.30 am to 12.00 & from 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm (ticketing closes at 4.45pm) exepte on sunday from 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm.
From 01/04 to 31/10 : everyday from 9.30 am to 12.30 & from 1.30 pm to 5.30 pm (ticketing closes at 4.45 pm).
Warning : the cash register closes three quarters of an hour before the closing time of the belfry but remains accessible to the public to provide any information.
The Hiding-Place :
Enter the Belfry and say that you are coming for the Geocaching to the person of the reception. Give it the gc-code for to get a discound ! GC7JKXA
Then, go up to the Chamber of Music, find the box hidden in the room, take a letter and give it to the guard who will give you the real box !
