Geocache Description:

QCAC presents:

*Iowa Geocachers Association*

Started in 2004, Hike-n-Seek is hosted in different locations across Iowa and is one of the largest geocaching events held annually in Iowa. This year's event is hosted in Scott County, IA.
Event Details:

Event headquarters will be at the Whispering Pines Shelter in Scott County Park.
Full event schedule and details will be posted and updated via the HnS18 website at http://www.hikenseek2018.com.

Timeline:

Caching will occur for 9 hours on Saturday, September 22 from 8:30am until 5:30pm. Starting at 8:30am, cache coordinates and descriptions in official diaries will be released at IGO Hike-n-Seek 2018 headquarters at the posted coordinates. The hosts will have several computers available on site from which the master GPS file may be downloaded -- bring your own special cables if necessary.
QCAC does not have access to the shelter before 8am - do not try to come that early! Anyone arriving after 8am but before 8:30am can turn over any GPS units to have caches pre-loaded but no units will be handed back until 8:30am. Hosts will be available to answer questions throughout the day.

Return to the shelter after 5:30 to join us for a good old cookout! QCAC will be grilling up your dinner for you! Meat will be provided. We ask that attendees bring a dish to pass:

If your last name begins with letters A-M, please bring a side dish to pass.
If your last name begins with letters N-Z, please bring a dessert to pass.

Drawings for door prizes will follow dinner.

**Cache at your own risk**

Geocaching, hiking, backpacking and other outdoor activities involve risk to both persons and property. There are many variables including, but not limited to, weather, fitness level, terrain features and outdoor experience, that must be considered prior to seeking a Cache. Be prepared for your journey and be sure to check the current weather and conditions before heading outdoors. Always exercise common sense and caution.
**Remember to be good ambassadors to nature. We as geocachers have a responsibility to leave it as we found it, so others may enjoy nature's glory. Always replace the cache the way you found it, so others may enjoy the find.
