Geocache Description:

Do you like geocaching puzzles?

Do you avoid geocaching puzzles?

Then this is the event for you!

This event is all about geocaching puzzles.

Come to the Griffith/Cal. Twp. library on Saturday, March 24th from 10am-Noon.

The main piece of this event will be a geocaching puzzle contest. For this contest, at least 7 new puzzle caches will be released. The puzzle caches released for this event will have varying difficulty: 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4, 4.5 & 5.

How does the contest work?

Teams of 4 people or less will have a chance to complete as many puzzles (released for this event) as they can from 10:30am-11:30am. Of the newly released puzzles, a team will earn points for each puzzle they correctly solve. A D2 puzzle would be worth 2 points, a D3.5, 3.5 points, etc. Whichever team earns the most points through solving the puzzles and getting the correct coordinates will be the winner. There will be prizes for top teams, one of which is claiming FTF on the puzzle of their choice.

Don't like puzzles?

If you struggle with puzzles I would still encourage you to come. There will be time before and after the competition to talk about puzzles with other cachers. Not to mention, other puzzle hiders will be there so you may be able to pick up a few tips. You may even be inspired to create your own. At the very least, you can come hang out with other cachers.

Bring a computer or tablet if you can

Please bring your own laptop or tablet to work on if you can. Some of these puzzles will be quite challenging and a computer will be needed in order to solve them. While I have permission to use the meeting room, I do not have permission to use up all the library computers.
