What is a CAPE?
A cape is a headland or a promontory of large size extending into a body of water, usually the sea. A cape usually represents a marked change in trend of the coastline. Their proximity to the coastline makes them prone to natural forms of erosion, mainly tidal actions.
Cape Raso
Cabo Raso is a beautiful and scenic part of the Portuguese west coast of Portugal and is located in the parish and municipality of Cascais, in the district of Lisbon. In the middle of the cape is the Cape Raso Lighthouse and the São Brás Fort of Sanxete. It is relatively close to the village of Cascais, in the extreme southwest of the Estoril Coast, and a few kilometres south of Cabo da Roca.
The rock types are reef limestones of Lower Cretaceous age striking E-W cut occasionally by igneous dykes.
Registration requirements
Question 1 - What kind of rock outcrops in GZ? (if it's whitish it may be limestone. If it's green it might be malachite. If it's got black and orange spots, it's out of this world. If it's pink, it is granite)
Question 2 - Is there any obvious fracturing in the surroundings?
Question 3 - If the answer to 2 is positive, what is the main orientation of the fractures? If not, go to question 4.
Question 4 - Is there any basalt outcrops that can be seen from GZ? (The basalt is a very dark, fine-grained rock).

O que é um cabo?
Um cabo, promontório, ponta ou pontal é um acidente geográfico formado por uma massa de terra que se estende por um oceano ou mar que lhe está adjacente. Um cabo, em geral, tem mais importância que um 
promontório, e muitas vezes exerce influência sobre correntes costeiras e outras características oceanográficas de seu meio. Um cabo, portanto, é idealmente uma península estreita mas isto varia, como poderão observar nesta EC.
Cabo Raso
O Cabo Raso faz parte da costa ocidental marítima portuguesa e situa-se na freguesia e concelho de Cascais, no distrito de Lisboa. Em pleno cabo situa-se o Farol do Cabo Raso e o Forte de São Brás de Sanxete. Está relativamente perto da vila de Cascais, no extremo sudoeste da Costa do Estoril, e poucos quilómetros a sul do cabo da Roca.
Geologicamente é composto por calcários recifais do Cretácico Inferior (Hauteriviano – Barremiano; 136.4 to 125 M.a.).

Pergunta 4 – Existe algum dique de basalto que se veja do GZ? (o basalto é uma rocha de grão fino e muito escura).
