Cache not at posted coordinates.

Northern Virginia is sometimes very cold, and then very quickly it can feel like t-shirt weather. This cache is in honor of the crazy weather we sometimes have. It is also meant to be a cache for families, so hopefully even kids can have fun finding the solution and the container. You may need appropriate clothing to get to this cache. Mud boots will be crucial when its wet out. And, long-sleeves might be good in the summer.

The U.S. Navy has sent a ship down to Antarctica for routine geographical and meteorological mapping. When they reach their destination, the captain announces that they are limited to just two weeks to get their work done, as winter will be starting and he doesn't want to get trapped by ice. A small group of Navy scientists, a pilot, and a news reporter for Oceanic Press, Maggie Hathaway, decide to take a sight seeing trip by helicopter to take a look at their surroundings.

Over the ice and mountains, Lt. Jack Carmen gets a call of an impending storm and is ordered back to the ship. But, it is too late. Looking for a way to avoid the worst of the storm, Jack heads toward an area that has been reported to be naturally warmer than the surrounding area. Suddenly something large hits the helicopter and they start descending. The temperature goes from below freezing to hot. When they land, the control panel reports its 91° and 2500 feet below sea level! Steve Miller, the mechanic, checks out the damage and sadly reports that the push-pull tube assembly is busted beyond repair. Oh, no! Wherever they are, they can't get out using the helicopter.

The group decides to look around. They find a dead pterodactyl that they figure out was what had hit them earlier. A large meal like an adult pterodactyl attracts some huge, hungry lizards. Then a T-rex shows up and chases them. Off in the distance a horn blows and the dinosaurs back off. Well, that was just weird. They know two things now, dinosaurs still live on Earth and they are not alone in this place.

They find Dr. Carl Hunter, who himself had crashed here many years ago and was the lone survivor. The time alone has made him a little crazy. He tells them that his crash site might have the parts he needs but he won't tell them where that is. Without Carl's help, the group might not make it back to the ship before it leaves the icy waters. Living in the Mesozoic Era for the rest of their lives doesn't seem like a good option so the men in the group decide to find the wreckage on their own. Maggie tries talking with Carl again. While she is in his cave, she spots the coordinates for the where the parts are hidden. It's encoded, though. He must have really been crazy to make up a sheet like this alone here in this place. But, she knows exactly what to do with it. In fact, it's as easy as 1-2-3.

Will they escape the Land Unknown?

You are looking for a large container that I've stuffed with some prehistoric swag. Please remember to trade equal or better and rehide as found.
