Geocache Description:

Once upon a time, a geocaching log was written that said: "TFTC. Every sgl gate should have one. :)" I could not agree more. It sounded like a good idea for a possible series. This is Day Four of the Christmas extension of the SGL gate series.

On the Fourth Day of Christmas, mrGreen317 hid for me, a camo-ed tube hanging in a stand of deciduous trees... * Update, 10/26/2018: This cache is currently not hanging, but tucked under a rock within the stand of trees; see hint if needed.

While the retailers are packing away the Christmas wares for 2017, the traditional Christmas season actually runs from December 25 through January 5, the "Twelve Days of Christmas". Here are some geocaches hidden for the "Twelve Gates of Christmas" (12 GoC) to grab this Christmas season or any other time of the year when geocaching is on the day's agenda.

This geocache is a camo-taped, flip-top tube container hanging on the branch of a small tree (update: nestled in at the 'V' of a tree with a rock on top) at the given coordinates. It should almost be a park and grab, maybe with a little bushwhacking through spring and summer-time growth and a little short incline between the gate and GZ. The location is SGL 108 off PA-865 / Skyline Drive, and even though the cache is near the gate, please exercise sensible precautions if hunters are in the area. During the peak hunting seasons, orange is required to be worn in SGL (except on Sunday, when there is no hunting).

Also, please do not park in such a way as to block the gate or the SGL road. There should be enough room to park to the side of the SGL road so that other vehicles will be able to get around yours if necessary.

Of course, since this is listed as a small, please bring a pen (or pencil) along to sign the log. The log slip is "Rite in the Rain" paper, so it should resist getting wet, however, a pencil will work best if the slip is wet when you go to sign it. If the slip is dry, a standard ball point pen will do fine. Water-based inks may not write on the paper very well and should be avoided if possible.

Congratulations to 74vwBusFamily for the FTF in the freezing cold. Merry Christmas to you and your family!

This geocache container will soon be getting a code card that will provide a clue to a Mystery/Puzzle cache to be published at the end of the Twelve Days of Christmas. Finders of the cache who log it before that information is added will be notified by geo-messenger of the needed puzzle clue once all the clues are added to the caches in this series.

Merry Christmas from mrGreen317 and SageHippo!

* I changed up the container and hide slightly from Days 1, 2, and 3 (I don't want to be accused of "re-gifting"), but as always, the smiley is what counts, and each day is a brand new smiley!

Many thanks to SageHippo for providing the original container used on this geocache. It was used to hide one of her geocaching Advent gifts hidden for mrGreen317 in the weeks leading up to Christmas this year. This container has since been replaced with a very similar container on a maintenance visit in late January, 2018.
