I invite the geocachers who will be in Rio de Janeiro in the morning of Decemebr 31st 2017 for a short event. It will be a nice opportunity to finish the old year and to say "Happy New Year!" to each other. For us this was the longest non-leap year of our life. We started it 12 hours before our friends and families started it in our country being on the trip on the antipodes. Then we will finish it here 3 hours after them being in Rio.
Besides the memories of the passing year and New Year greetings the focus of our meeting will be exchange of geocachers' goodies:
- Trackables (geocoins, travel bugs, travel tags etc.),
- Signature items of various kinds and shapes including wood coins which are now very popular in Europe,
- Log stamps (stamping each other's notebooks / diaries)
Let us meet on Monday 2017.12.31 at 10:00 (10AM) by the Christ the Redeemer statue at the edge of the terrace under the left hand of Jesus (just at the coordinates). The official language of the event is English. Duration of the meeting: 30 minutes (end: 10:30AM). It may then be followed by some inofficial geo-chats if desired... See you in Rio!
