Geocache Description:

The number three, stars, hidden treasure and Christmas is quite significant here.

This cache is my third.

It’s at the confluence of three streets.

One of these street has reference to stars.

There’s an open field (or a web swing if you prefer) near here where you can look at the stars at night.

My sister, who’s name has reference to stars, is the third of three siblings – and it was she who gave me the idea of stars.

Around this place, at Christmas, is a cluster of homes which are usually lit up like stars during the season. One of these homes is usually listed in the Melbourne Christmas Lights register. Ashwood Drive is generally quite a pretty street to drive along during Christmas because many homes make an effort to decorate for the season.

And now for some Christmas trivia:

How many people did the shepherds find in the stable?

There is a famous Christmas song about wise men – how many came with gifts in search of a special child?

How many gifts did they bring?

What were these gifts?

What was the name of the person they were seeking?

ABOUT THE CACHE

This micro is more like a nano than a micro now. If your GPS takes you into the creek, don't believe it. Remember the terrain rating. It's right beside the trail. Just time your search well between passing joggers, dog walkers, cyclists and other inquisitive canines.

Yes, put the cache into the plastic bag and then return it to its spot securely. Ensure that the camo it sits in as well as the camo around it is appropriately set in place before you leave it to keep the fun going.

Please bring a pen to log your find. Only sufficient space for date and initial most likely.

As per geocaching etiquette, we enjoy reading about your adventure and fun, but keep spoilers to yourself. Other geocachers deserve to have as much fun as you looking for this. Let's keep the fun going for everyone.

7 Apr 2018 modified hints, removed the 'confusing' ones

2 Jan 2019 raised the terrain and difficulty level based on actual search results of geocachers. Try not to do a DNF until you have had a really really really good go at it as it will necessitate a visit by cache owner.

15 Oct 2019 Moved cache a few metres away from the busy playground to a more suitable spot. This is now much smaller than the previous cache. But don't worry it's actually in a "quite obvious" spot. Just stand back and look.

And something extra – a Christmas poem
as written by Cherryslice88

Jingle bells jingle bells

Carols cheer and shepherd smells

Husband father soon to be

Travel far with wife Mary

Distant town for census go

For in person he must show

Now in town with no hotel

Good news soon the angels tell

Angels bright and shepherd’s fright

Glorious Father’s warm delight

Son obedient Spirit fill

Promised child on distant hill

Magi search from distant lands

Bearing gifts of gold and myrrh

Bow and worship with frankincense

Herod’s wrath all must flee

Angels warn to Egypt be

This promised child

is Messiah Christ

King of Kings

Whom poets sing

When the time is full and right

Will appear in power and might

Magi, shepherds to baby’s side

Star for guide and baby hide

It’s a story from long ago

2000 years and maybe more

Yuletide song and Christmas cheer

Joy to a world
