Geocache Description:


Village signs is a series of caches based on the ornate signs that depict the heritage, history and culture of the villages that put them up (normally on the village green!).

This cache is a small tube

The cache is NOT at the published coordinates so please dont go climbing all over the sign.

There is a lamppost with two numbers on at the listed coordinates by the chevron signs. Call the first number A and the second number B.

C = A/B
D = A+B

The cache can be found at N 51° 59.C(C+D)(A+C+D) W 000° C(B+C+D).(D+D)(C+D)(A-B)


Holwell is a small village and a civil parish two miles north of Hitchin in Hertfordshire, England, near the Bedfordshire border. At the 2011 Census the population of the village was 362. The school, almshouses, and rectory are all in a similar Tudor style erected in the 1830s, but are no longer in use and have been converted into housing. Fragments of early wall paintings and wooden mullioned windows have been discovered in the mediaeval timber-framed Church Farmhouse.
