Where: We will meet at the base of the beacon (published coordinates) for 1030hrs. If however you would like some company on the way up I will be leaving for the beacon at 1000hrs from WP1.
What: We will be scrub clearing from the beacon bank, see the circled area on the map below.
The area had been previously cleared, prior to re-establishing the current grazing regime, but there is lots of new growth. The slope is very steep but is ok if approached with caution.
There will also be lots of brash to burn for those of you who are not keen on traversing the slope.
How: Felicity the Countryside Ranger will be there providing guidance and any necessary tools and gloves, but bring your own if you prefer.
Health and Safety: All health and safety rules apply, the slope where we will be clearing the scrub is very steep (as is the hill) but it is ok if approached with caution. Children will need supervision and pets kept under control.
