Thirty years ago, straight out of college, my sister left England for the romance of Paris, with my Mum's words ringing in her ears: "Don't marry a Frenchman"! Of course, she did marry a Frenchman, and she hasn't been home since ... but she didn't stay in Paris.
With her husband and family, she's lived in Abidjan (Côte d'Ivoire), Cotonou (Benin), Tel Aviv (Israel), Antibes (back in France), Beijing (China), and now, she's here in Dakar.
I'll be here too for a couple of weeks in December, to ask the question: Paris-Dakar, Really?

Parking is at the given coordinates, at the bottom of the hill. I understand that at times a shuttle bus runs between the parking and the lighthouse, but best to be prepared for a climb to the top!
