Greenback: Thanks to all who came out, I hope you had a good time, I know I did. Thank you to everyone who placed caches for the event, as well as those who donated prices for the door prize drawing.

I know all of the travel bugs were claimed by geocachers, I hope those who took travel bugs will log them soon.

Next year I'm thinking of going to the Northwest suburbs.

Geocache Description:

Come one, come all... What a great way to start the new year, meeting old friends and making new ones. You might want to team up or go solo. A hot meal, and good company on a snowy cold winter's morn-- what more could one ask for? Whether you're new to geocaching or an old pro, come on out and grab some grub and share your caching stories with fellow cachers. Then, if you are so inclined, head on out and find a cache or even make a day of it.

Breakfast in the Blustery Burbs (BBB) is a tradition which began in 2005. Back then events were rare. After more than two months without an event throughout Chicagoland, I missed getting together with friends and thus, this breakfast event was born. These days events are a weekly occurrence but for me this event marks the beginning of a new year of caching. I had a blast last year in Tinley Park so thought we'd come back here for a second year. I hope you will join me.

You can make it an event filled day:
Participate in the photo contest during the month of December. Attend one event or all four on January 13th and be sure to have fun!

7:45-9:00am Breakfast in the Blustery Burbs 2018 including voting for the Blustery Photo Contest, and door prizes.
6-6:30pm Flash Mob in the Blustery Burbs 2018 Jr. hosted by Siamese Retriever with a FTF cache hunt to keep you going until the final event of the day.
9-10:00pm Warm up in the Blustery Burbs 2018 hosted by KINGEVO.

Gratuity & Breakfast Price:
When you pay, tell the cashier that you are here for the geocaching event. Golden Corral is adding $1 to
your bill so we will NOT have a tip jar.

Adults = $10.49
Senior = $9.99
Ages 7-10 = $8.99
Ages 3-6 = $7.99

Trackables:
Trackables which will fit in a regular sized container are welcome and will be assured to move on from the event. Large trackables are the responsibility of the person who brings them. If you bring an over-sized trackable, you must find someone who agrees to be responsible for moving it on.

Door Prize Drawing:
The door prize drawing will be held at 8:45 a.m. This year I've got a few Greenback Geocoins to pass out. If anyone wants to donate additional prizes, see me, Mike Swaney at check-in.

Blustery Photo Contest:
Throughout the month of December you can participate in our Blustery Photo Contest. Do you like to geocache in the winter? Do you enjoy photographing your adventures? This year consider entering the Blustery Photo contest and you may be the photographer elite in the community, well at least garnish bragging rights and a small prize. The photo contest starts December 1, 2017 and the deadline to enter is midnight on December 31, 2017. Learn how to enter the contest here.

Will There Be Snow?:
Throughout the history of this event we've had everything: from a foot of fresh snow (twice), temperatures below zero once, an absolutely lovely day once, and the rest were a mixed bag of cold windy days. That's the point of the event, the worse the weather the warmer the food and fellowship will be.

Event Caches:
Placement of event caches is encouraged. If you would like to hide caches in conjunction with this event your efforts are truly appreciated. Please take into account the following guidelines for placing event caches:

Ask the reviewer to publish the cache Thursday 01/11/2018 so that folks can download the waypoints prior to the event. (simply add a reviewer note to
your cache page before submitting it).
Email Mike Swaney aka greenback@gogeocaching.com with the name, and GC number of the new cache and it will be added along with your name to the list of event caches.
