Church Micro 11288...Grove Park St Paul Multi-cache

This cache has been archived.

Southerntrekker: Hi There

As the owner has not responded to either my log or my colleague's previous log requesting that they check this cache I am archiving it.

Please note that once the cache has been archived, this can not be undone. This is explained in the Help Center - http://support.groundspeak.com//index.php?pg=kb.page&id=70

You will need to create a new listing, put it back in for review and as long as it meets today's guidelines and no other caches have been published in the area causing a proximity problem, then it will be published.

Regards

Geocache Description:

PLEASE BRING TWEEZERS, pen and no spoiler in the log! Your log has to physically be on the logbook for me to accept it.

This cache is a simple 3-stage multi which should take 30 to 45 minutes to complete. Fun and suitable to do with children. It is part of the Church Micro Series... the largest series anywhere in the world! (by sadexploration, whom you should contact if you want to expand it → see bottom of description for more infos).

St Paul's Church in Grove Park (an area of Chiswick by the Thames) is a gorgeous little Anglican church built in 1872 (though it looks much older) with a magnificient garden which had been featured recently in films (notably in The Theory of Everything about the life of Stephen Hawking). When walking around the vicinity of the church and its beautiful garden you should be able to see this otehr garden (don't venture too far though, I'm pretty sure the other garden is private and belongs to the vicar's family house!). The church is a typical Victorian Church in a pleasant, quiet setting of lovely Chiswick. It was built by Henry Currey who also designed the original College House for Eastbourne College and the school's Cavendish Library, the Winter Garden, Pavilion and Devonshire Park Theatre in Eastbourne, buildings which were influenced by his travels to Italy in the early 1860s. He designed St Thomas’s Hospital in London built in the 'pavilion style', which opened on the Albert Embankment in 1871, including a teaching hospital and a nursing school to a design approved by Florence Nightingale. He was also the architect and surveyor to Coram’s Foundling Hospital and the Magdalene Hospital in London. Other notable works include the hotel at London Bridge Station and the Pump Room at Buxton and the nearby Baths. Really do take a look around the garden and inside the church if it's open, it's worth it!

At the coordinates of the multi, you won't find any cache but the clues needed to complete the first stage of the multi.

Stage 1 - (at the given coordinates for the multi). At these coordinates, you should face a large red board with white letters at the corner of Grove Park Road and... well, Grove Park Road also. Look for the phone number: it's D2D AHA7 D312.

For stage 2 and 3, and to learn more about how to calculate the final coordinates: see description of the waypoints / stages and of the final location.  You can check if you calculate the final GZ right by visiting geocheck.org.

Once you find the coordinates, it's a 15 minute-walk to GZ. The track itself (on which you will find GZ) isn't displayed on the Geocaching map but can be seen on several maps online including the map of the biggest and best-known search engine in the world. I added several waypoints to guide your steps and make it a nice walk along the Thames. Hope you'll enjoy!
