Fairlight Forage
Series of seven caches - FF (Fairlight Forage), with a bonus.
(normally there are fourteen, but seven are currently out of order)
A stroll around Fairlight, approximately 6 km (~3.5 miles),
best conducted by foot, but many caches can be done as a 'cache and dash'.
Caches are nice and easy, with only a few very slightly more challenging.
The suggested order is shown below, however, feel free to do one / a few / all in any order you like :-)
Please consider carefully where you drive / park, respecting local access and obeying signage.
Tweezers advisable for many of this series.
(please bring your own pen)
There is a bonus cache available, answer the bonus questions for each cache to find it. |

FF08 - Can you see France?
This is the south east corner of the Fire Hills (part of Hastings Country Park).
On clear days, and especially on clear nights,
France can be seen from Fairlight with the naked eye and very easily with binoculars.
At this spot you're closer to France than you are to the City of London!
IMPORTANT!
When removing the stake please don't 'lever' it out (by pulling the top away from the main post),
try to just pull straight upwards only.
This will help keep the stake flush against the post when replaced.
When finsihed, please make sure stake is placed firmly back into the hole,
ensuring it is a flat as possible against the fence post.
Thank you :)
Why not use the bench up the slope slightly to sign the log and enjoy the view.
Can you see France today? Is it clear enough?

Bonus question - make a note of the correct letter:
Fairlight is approximately how many miles from France?
A = 19, B = 26, C = 32, D = 40, E = 51
