Born in Beziers, France, Anita Rocamora is a ceramic artist who takes much of her inspiration from nature around her.

Anita moved to Canada in 1963. She has lived in Saskatchewan since 1973. She took ceramics courses at the University of Regina from Jack Sures, a Saskatchewan professional ceramic artist who trained two generations of artists in the discipline.

Anita Rocamora experiments extensively with different techniques and textures. In her early career, she had a very organic style, basing her work on nature through the use of such elements as seeds, seed pods or gourds. The inspiration for her more recent work is rather the human form, with an element of fantasy.

Her work has been exhibited frequently in Saskatchewan and in different parts of Canada. She has received many awards, including the Corinne McKay Memorial Award in 2009.

Anita has lived and had her studio in Meacham since 1986.

Originaire de Beziers en France, Anita Rocamora est une artiste céramiste très inspirée par la nature qui l’entoure.

Anita a déménagé au Canada en 1963. Elle est établie en Saskatchewan depuis 1973. Elle a suivi des cours en céramique à L’université de Regina avec Jack Sures, céramiste professionnel Saskatchewanais qui a formé deux générations d’artistes dans ce domaine.

Anita Rocamora explore beaucoup avec différentes techniques et textures. Au début de sa carrière elle avait des tendances très organiques en se basant sur la nature comme par exemple les graines, gousses ou courges. Son plus récent travail s’inspire maintenant plus des formes humaines avec une certaine touche fantaisiste.

Son travail est souvent exposé autant en Saskatchewan qu’un peu partout à travers le pays. Elle a aussi remporté de nombreux prix, dont le Corinne McKay Memorial Award en 2009.

Anita Rocamora habite et a son studio à Meacham depuis 1986.
