There's always a story behind a name. When you visit the spot, you'll understand half the title name, but the other half needs further details. The building nearby is known locally as the old Dresser Building. This building used to house Dresser Measurement & Controls, which made Ashcroft-brand pressure gauges for fire extinguishers and other equipment. In 2003, the company announced it would close this location, and move to Brazil. Approximately 238 employees were affected by the closure. The building was eventually sold. The City of Berea now owns the building and operates its Berea Municipal Utilities department from this building, plus additional city-based offices.
