The Denny House was built by George Denny in 1840 as a Greek Antebellum home. This home originally sat on 540 acres of land, which George's father had puchased in 1827 from his father-in-law, Colonel William Miller. George Denny married Elizabeth Faulkner. Elizabeth's father had been a well-connected State Senator. With political guidance from his father-in-law, George Denny took an interest in politial matters and served as a KY State Senator himself from 1859-1863.
Today the home has close to 8 acres remaining with it, and is used as a Bed and Breakfast.
