Port of Kotor Traditional Geocache

Nikrmana: Unfortunately there's been some continuing issues with this cache and there is no option to replace it, thus I am archiving it. I'm also archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:


For more than 2,000 years, the idyllic natural harbor provides sailors protection, security and hospitality. Slowly your ship sails through the southernmost fjord of Europe. Enjoy the sight of the rugged rock faces and immerse yourself in the eventful past of the city. The sheltered bay was a haven for pirates and pirates, as well as a commercial center and a naval base, and was highly sought after by Roman and Byzantine traders. The Venetians also ruled here 300 years, the Austrians, Russians and even the troops of Napoleon , In the city itself, the approximately 4.5 kilometer-long city wall witnessed these troubled times. Behind you is the medieval old town with venerable Romanesque churches, the classical Renaissance clock tower and some fine Venetian palaces. Be amazed at this variety and relax with a glass of red wine in one of the quaint cafes
