Named for Stanley W. "Scootie" Brown, who was a popular high school baseball player nicknamed for his ability to "scoot" fast and get around the bases. He was a banker in Auburn for 56 years. The park was dedicated in 1973.
2017 is the third Geocaching Adventure in the City of Auburn, Washington. Auburn Parks, Arts and Recreation, auburntourism.com, and the WSGA are hosting the Auburn Geocaching Adventure 2017 - 20 caches placed in Auburn.
