This cache was hidden in one of the gates of Taipei City Walls.
Taipei City Walls were built in 1882 and completed in 1884 in Qing Dynasty. Decades later, Taiwan was handed over to Japan Emperor in 1895, and the walls started to be demolish because of a new urban planning from Japanese government. Nowadays only the East, South, Side-South, and North Gates still stand in Taipei City. The walls, on the other hands, turned into 4 wide roads in Taipei, ZhongXiao West Rd in the north, ZhongShan South Rd in the east, Aiguo West Rd in the south, and ZhongHua Rd in the west. The rocks taken from the walls were partly used to construct Taipei Prison, where a cache was also hidden.
North gate, also called ChengEn Gate (承恩門), is the only gate of the fives still kept its original appearance. The planning of building the Beimen viaduct over ZhongXiao West Rd in 1960s includes demolishing the gate. However, right before the beginning of the construction of viaduct in 1976, the gate was then determined to be kept under the pressure from many heritage and historical workers and professors.
In the holiday week of Chinese New Year in 2016, the Beimen viaduct was removed, bringing out the historical gate to the sun shine again. After the complete of the surrounding park, one now can walk into the park passing through the gate, and imagine the old lives here in Taipei hundred years ago.

這個寶藏被藏在台北城的其中一個城門處。
台北城於清朝年間建城，於1882年開工並在2年後完工。數十年後，台灣於1895年移交給日本帝國統治。由於日人推動新的都市計畫，台北城城牆逐步被拆除。今日僅剩下東門、南門、小南門與北門仍矗立於台北街頭。而原先城牆處則改建為四條馬路，分別為今日的忠孝西路、中山南路、愛國西路與中華路。部分由城牆拆下來的石塊被日人用來新建了 台北監獄，這裡同時也是一個藏寶點喔。
北門又稱作承恩門，是台北城5個城門中唯一被原始保留下來的城門。1960年代規劃新建的北門快速道路中包含了北門的拆除計畫，但到了1976年快速道路開工時，在眾多文史工作者及教授們的壓力下，台北城北門獲得了保存，但卻得在高架橋下夾縫求生。
在2016年的農曆新年間，北門高架橋終於被拆除，終於可讓歷經百年的古城門重見天日。在周邊道路與廣場陸續完工後，遊客們現在可以走過城門，想像百年前古人的生活樣貌。
