ENG The very first “Heart Ticket” event for young people took place at Tukums railway station in September 2011. The railway station waiting room and the platform have been intentionally selected to serve as informal venus, because a railway station, just like a market, is a mirror of society. It is the environment where young people unconstrainedly read poetry at their own selection. Somebody is playing a guitar or other acoustic instrument, or singing. The event is arranged in a highly democratic manner, without any strict scenario and without pushy prompting, so it does not remind the traditional stiff literary events. The atmosphere is highly favorable and intimately welcoming, yet ceremonial. Everybody present in the room, including passengers and passers-by, is gradually involved in listening to and even reading of poetry. All participants, either reciting poems or stopping for a while to listen, get a ticket. With the ticket, which you can get in 2017, you can visit several excellent museums for free.
