La Tour de l'Horloge
Construite sur une ancienne porte de la ville d’Amboise, la Tour de l’Horloge date du XVe siècle. Elle reprend sur ses parties basses un bâti plus ancien, issu de la porte d’Amasse. Elle se situe à côté des vestiges du Moulin de l’Aumône.
Au XIIIe siècle, on trouve à cette emplacement une porte de ville, la porte d’Amasse, dont il subsiste encore la partie basse (voûte).
Transformée en Beffroi en 1445 sous le règne de Charles VII, des travaux sont réalisés aux frais des habitants d’Amboise à partir de 1495. L’horloge est installée en 1500.
En 1933, la Tour est classée monument historique.
Architecture
La Tour de l’Horloge comprend dans sa partie basse une voûte en berceau brisée qui
représente la partie la plus ancienne de l’édifice.
Sous ce porche on trouve une statue en terre cuite de la Vierge Marie d’un mètre de haut. Initialement, elle était placée en haut de la Porte du Beffroi. Face à la difficulté d’y faire des offrandes, elle avait été descendue.
Située dans une voûte peinte, elle était censée protéger les personnes s'aventurant hors de la ville, au-delà des remparts.
Au sommet, la cloche fait un 1m de haut et 4 de circonférence. Le Beffroi reçoit à plusieurs endroits les armoiries de la ville.
Comment valider cette cache virtuelle ?
C'est très simple, il vous suffit de joindre à votre log une photo de votre montre, avec l'horloge de la tour en arrière-plan . Vous n'avez pas besoin de m'envoyer votre photo par messagerie, je vous contacterais en cas de problème. Si vous n'avez pas de montre vous pouvez en dessiner une sur votre main, un bout de papier etc … à la même heure que l'horloge !!!
Vous pouvez également faire un selfie mais ceci reste facultatif , pour préserver votre anonymat !!!
