Leineperin eli Fredriksforsin Ruukki on perustettu Kullaanjoen Katokosken rannalle vuonna 1771. Rautaruukin perustaja oli hyväsydämisyydestään ja iloluonteisuudestaan tunnettu majuri Berndt Johan Hastfehr. Hänen ajatuksenaan oli jalostaa Ruotsista tuotua takki- eli raakarautaa mitä moninaismpiin käyttötarkoituksiin. Apuna tähän olivat joen koskivoima ja paikallinen hiilentuotanto. Ruukilla oli kaksi vasarapajaa, joissa taottiin pultteja, nauloja, lapioita, hevosenkenkiä ja viikatteita. Ensimmäisen masuunin valmistuttua 1787 alettiin sulattaa kotimaista rautamalmia. 1800-luvun alussa Ruukkiin kuului masuunin lisäksi vasarapaja ja manufaktuuripaja lukuisine ahjoineen ja vasaroineen, malmin ja kuonan käsittelylaitokset, suuri hiilihuone sekä kymmenet asuin- ja maatalousrakennukset. Manufaktuuriraudan tuottajana Leineperi kuului Suomen suurimpiin. Ruukki kasvoi ja voimistui edelleen 1800-luvun puolivälin jälkeen, kun sen ohjaksiin astuivat uudet ripeäotteiset patruunat. Heidän toimestaan Ruukin alue kasvoi tuotantolaitoksineen, työläisten ja seppien asuntoineen ja yhteisine leivintupineen aikansa suureksi teollisuusyhteisöksi. Antti Ahlström osti Ruukin, uudisti tuotannon ja rakensi sahan. Raudanjalostus päättyi vuonna 1902. 1900-luvun Leineperin Ruukki toimi maanviljelystilana.

Leineperin or Fredriksforsin Ruukki was founded on the beach of Katokoski on Kullaanjoki in 1771. The founder, major Berndt Johan Hastfehr, was known of his kind-heartness and cheerfulness. His idea was to refine iron brought from Sweden into diverse uses. The rapids and local coal production helped this. Leineperin Ruukki had two workshops in which bolts, nails, shovels, horseshoes and scythes were forged. After the building of the first blast furnace was finished in 1787, started the melting of domestic iron ore. In the beginning of the 19th century there was also workshop and manufacturing forge with countless anvils and hammers, treatment facility for ore and cinder, big coal chamber and dozens of residental buildings and farm buildings. Leineperi was one of the biggest manufacturing iron producers in Finland. It only grew bigger and stronger on the second half of the 1800s, when new owners became in charge. Thanks to them, the area grew became one big industry organisation. Antti Ahlström bought Leineperin Ruukki, reformed the production and built a sawmill. Refinement of iron ended in 1902. Leineperin Ruukki functioned as a farm in the 20th century.
