Es war in der Zeit des 30-jährigen Krieges 1618 - 1648, als die Schweden vor den Toren unserer Stadt lagen. Seit Wochen beschossen sie Mauern und Türme. Die Rheinfelder wurden mutlos und waren geschwächt durch Hunger und Krankheit.
Als die Not am grössten war, kam dem Schneider die rettende Idee. Er liess sich in das Fell des letzten Ziegenbockes nähen und stieg unter lautem Gemecker auf die Zinnen der Stadtmauer. Die Schweden, selbst der langwierigen Belagerung müde, sahen das fette Tier. Sie meldeten den Vorfall ihrem Kommandanten mit dem Vermerk, die Stadt sei noch lange nicht auszuhungern, da anscheinend noch genügend Lebensmittel vorhanden seien. Die Schweden zogen ab. Der tapfere Schneider, der für unsere Freiheit auf die Mauer gestiegen ist, hat unter Einsatz seines Lebens die Stadt gerettet.
Dieser Ort erinnert an die Sage des tapferen Schneiders von Rheinfelden.

2. In welchem Jahr cccc bedanken sich die Bürger und Bürgerinnen von Rheinfelden beim mutigen Schneider mit einer Inschrift aus Stein?
3. Gehe nun von den Ankerkoordinaten aus 130m in Richtung 130° und Du findest im Umkreis von 30m ein weiteres Zeugnis des Einsatzes des listigen Schneiders. Aus welchem Jahr 19dd stammt es?
4. Ein Foto von Dir und dem Glockenspiel in Aktion
Den Schneider, verkleidet als Ziegenbock, und das Glockenspiel kannst Du an folgenden Zeiten in Aktion sehen.

It was during the "Thirty Years War" 1618-1648, when the Swedish laid siege to the gates of our city. For weeks they fired at our walls and towers. The Rheinfelden citizens were discouraged and were weakened by hunger and disease.
When the suffering was most severe, the tailor came up with an idea to save them. He had himself sewed into the fur of the last goat and climbed, a loud bleating, onto the battlements of the city wall. The Swedish, tired even of the protracted siege, saw the fat animal. They reported the incident to their commander informing him that the citizens had plenty of food and would not starve for a long time. The Swedish then left. The brave tailor who climbed the wall for our freedom saved the city risking his life.
This place is reminiscent of the legend of the brave tailor of Rheinfelden.
