Chebsky Spalicek - CZ Virtual Cache

Spalicek je zcela po pravu hlavnim symbolem chebske architektury. Jde o unikatni komplex jedenacti kupeckych domu ze 14. stoleti. Z casti hrazdene domky zacaly vyrustat uz ve 13. stoleti pro potreby chebskych kupcu. Tehdy se ale jednalo o drevene boudy a masne kramy. Postupne se na puvodnim pudorysu menila architektura, drevo nahrazovaly odolnejsi materialy a cely soubor staveb byl dokoncen v 15. stoleti.

Spalicek is definitely the main symbol of the Cheb architecture. It's a unique complex of 11 shopkeeper buildings from the 14th century. The half-timbered houses started to grow yet in 13th century for the needs of Cheb shopkeepers. It was just wooden huts and meat shops though. Gradually the original floor plan has changed, the architecture was different, the wood was replaced with more durable materials.. The whole complex of buildings was finished in the 15th century.

Spalicek is divided on two separate blocks by a medieval alley with an accurate name Kramarska (Shopkeeper's). It's real narrow and it makes you fully enjoy the medieval simplicity of the buildings. Forget all those masonry aids, such as bubble level or lead. The walls in the alley seem crooked at the first sight, which makes the walk through the alley even more romantic. The Kramarska alley is only 160 centimeteres wide at times, so it's not very good for claustrophobics.

However there was two alleys and even more buildings in the past. The third block of the building does not exist anymore  - it was destroyed on the beginning of the 19th century due the huge odors coming from the meat shops. The meat shops have moved under the square near the river Ohre.

O pulnoci, kdyz se ze sklepa zacalo ozyvat hlasite bouchani, odvazil se vstoupit se svym kamaradem, mestskym pisarem a objevili zazdenou niku, kde se ukryval hrnec plny zlataku. Byl k nemu prilozeny vzkaz, ze se musi penize vratit mestskym sirotkum, kterym byly ukradeny.

Mlady cinar tak ucinil a kletba pominula. Od te doby se i jemu v kramku darilo. Kramek se pry nachazi v jizni casti Spalicku.

The legend of Spalicek is telling a story about a store that was cursed. That's also the reason why nobody wanted to rent it. Until one day a young miner dared.

It was midnight, when he heard a loud banging from the cellar. He dared to go down there together with his friend, a town scribe. They found a walled niche, inside which was a hidden pot full of gold coins. There was also a message next to it, saying the money has to be returned to the town orphans, whom it was stolen from.

Young miner did so and the curse passed away. Since then him and his store were doing great. The store is apparently on the southern part of Spalicek.

Pro uznani logu musi byt splnena tyto podminky:

1. - Na email geomarbes@gmail.com posli ciselny kod AB, kde A = pocet lamp a B = pocet okapovych svodu - zdvojeny pocitat jako jeden (oboji v Kramarske ulicce)

2. - Ke svemu logu pridej fotografii sebe (nebo sve GPS) pred Spalickem (nejlepe pred Kramarskou ulickou).

Logujte hned, necekejte na nasi odpoved, kdyz bude neco spatne, ozveme se.

Podminky musi splnit kazdy, logy bez fotografie budou smazany.

For the log recognition following conditions must be fulfilled:

1. - Send us the AB code to email geomarbes@gmail.com, where A = the amount of lamps in the Kramarska alley and B = the amount of rain pipes in the Kramarska alley - count the double ones as a one.

2. - To your log add a photo of yourself (or your GPS) taken at the Spalicek (best in front of the Kramarska alley).

Log immediately please, don’t wait for our response, we’ll hit you up if anything’s wrong.

This conditions must be fulfilled by everyone, logs without photo will be deleted.
