(Denkmal für die im Nationalsozialismus verfolgten Homosexuellen)
Wir wussten, dass uns der kleine Mann mit dem komischen Bart in Berlin nichts Gutes verheißen würde. Und so fing die böse Zeit mit seiner Machtergreifung 1933 an, ich war gerade zwanzig und meine Sturm- und Drangzeit begann. Erst wurden im illustren Berliner Schöneberg viele Clubs und Bars geschlossen, dann sollten wir uns verstecken und verleugnen. Das kam für mich nicht in Frage, aber das ist mir nicht gut bekommen: Ich wurde verhaftet und schließlich 1942 ins KZ Buchenwald deportiert. Es war die Hölle, doch ich überlebte Dank einer neuen Liebe im Lager.
Mit der Befreiung 1945 dachten wir „Alles wird gut“. Doch noch lange galt in Deutschland der alte Paragraph 175 in der Fassung von 1935. Immer noch wurden wir bestraft, verfolgt, bespitzelt und unsere Namen auf „Rosa Listen“ gesammelt. Erst im Zuge der Wiedervereinigung wurde dann endlich der verhasste Paragraph endgültig gestrichen - das war 1994.
Es war schon ein großer Moment in meinem Leben, als mich der Bürgermeister von Berlin, Klaus Wowereit, zum Gedenktag an diesem Denkmal einlud. Ich war der letzte Überlebende, der über die Zeit im Lager berichten konnte.

Rudolf starb 2011. Er hat noch erlebt, wie sich erst 2002 Deutschland offiziell bei den homosexuellen Opfern des Nationalsozialismus entschuldigt hat. Eine Entschädigung hat er allerdings nie erhalten.

4. Bis wann galt in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland der im nationalsozialistischen Deutschland verschärfte §175 unverändert fort? Die Jahreszahl ist XXXX.
5. Nimm die Ergebnisse der vier Fragen und baue sie zu einer E-Mailadresse wie folgt zusammen: AB12XXXX@gmail.com.

(Memorial to Homosexuals Persecuted Under Nazism)
We knew that the short man with the funny beard was not going to be up to any good. After he seized power in 1933 the bad times began. I had just turned 20, starting my time of Sturm und Drang. First, many bars and clubs were closed in the illustrious neighborhood of Berlin Schöneberg, then we were supposed to hide and deny. To me this was not an option but refusing to do so did not turn out well for me: I was arrested and eventually deported to the concentration camp Buchenwald in 1942. I went through hell but miraculously survived thanks to a new-found love in the camp.
Following the liberation in 1945 we thought “all will be well” but instead the old paragraph 175 of 1935 was still enforced in the Federal Republic of Germany. Still we were being punished, persecuted, spied on and our names were collected on “Pink Lists”. Only after the reunification of East and West Germany was the much-hated paragraph 1994 finally abolished.
It was indeed a great moment in my life when the mayor of Berlin, Klaus Wowereit, invited me to the memorial on its day of remembrance. I was the last survivor who could give account of time in the camp.

Rudolf died in 2011. He still got to experience, when Germany officially apologized to homosexual victims of the Nazis only in 2002. However, he never received a reparation
