Este cache foi escondido no dia 06/08/2017, 62 anos após a explosão da bomba atômica sobre Hiroshima e há 24 anos do falecimento do meu pai, que apesar de nunca haver vivido em Brasília, amava esta cidade como poucos e nos ensinou o amor pelo campo e pela natureza.
A Floresta Nacional de Brasília (FLONA) é um parque natural criado em 1999 com cerca de 9,3 mil hectares. O parque foi criado numa área composta por antigas plantações de eucaliptos e áreas de cerrado nativo. O parque é importantíssimo por proteger diversas nascentes que fazem parte da Bacia do Rio Descoberto, principal rio que abastece a represa homônima que por sua vez é a principal fonte de água potável do Distrito Federal. E dentre os diversos córregos que estão localizados na FLONA, o principal é o Córrego Currais, nas margens do qual está localizado este cache.
A FLONA ainda é bastante desconhecida dos brasilienses. Porém, vem cada vez sendo mais utilizada para caminhadas e, principalmente, para passeios de bicicleta. Graças principalmente ao grupo BSBCaches, hoje existem na FLONA mais de 50 caches, sendo o melhor lugar do Distrito Federal para divertir-se com o Geocaching.
O horário de funcionamento do parque é das 8 às 17h, exceto nas segundas-feiras quando está fechado. Contudo nas épocas de férias ele pode ser estendido. Confirme o horário na entrada do parque.
O cache está localizado nas margens do Córrego Currais, próximo a um bom local para banhos. É um tubo de plástico pendurado numa árvore pela tampa. Ao retirar o cache, procure desatarraxar a tampa sem retirá-la da árvore. Feche com cuidado para evitar entrar água da chuva. O sinal do GPS não é bom no local em virtude das árvores.
Lembre-se que esta é uma área de preservação de mananciais. Não faça fogo nem deixe nenhuma marca de sua presença. Se possível, recolha qualquer lixo que encontrar no caminho. Pratique CITO (cache in-trash out).
This cache was hidden on 06/08/2017, 62 years after the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and twenty-four years after the death of my father, who, despite having never lived in Brasilia, loved this city like very few people and taught us the love for the countryside and for the Nature.
The National Forest of Brasilia (FLONA) is a natural park created in 1999 with about 9,300 hectares. The park was created in an area composed of former eucalyptus plantations and native cerrado vegetation. The park is very important for protecting several springs that are part of the Descoberto River Basin, the main river that supplies the homonymous dam, which in turn is the main source of drinking water in the Federal District. And among the several streams that are located in FLONA, the main one is the Currais Creek, in the margins of which this cache is located.
The FLONA is still quite unknown to the Brasilienses. However, it is increasingly used for hiking and, mainly, for cycling. Thanks mainly to the BSBCaches group, today there are more than 50 caches in FLONA, being the best place in the Federal District to have fun with Geocaching.
The hours of operation of the park is from 8 to 17h, except on Mondays, when it is closed. However, in times of vacations it can be extended. Confirm the time at the park entrance.
The cache is located on the banks of the Currais Creek, near a good place for bathing. It's a plastic tube hanging from a tree by the cover. When removing the cache, try unscrewing the cover without removing it from the tree. Close carefully to avoid getting rainwater. The GPS signal is not good on the spot because of the trees.
Remember that this is a watershed preservation area. Do not make a fire or leave any mark of your presence. If possible, collect any trash you find on the way. Practice CITO (cache in-trash out).
