The Harvest Moon is usually in September, nearest to the autumnal equinox. But this year the Harvest Moon is in October, so this month is the Corn Harvesting Moon. The Corn Harvesting Moon got its name from Native Americans who traditionally harvested corn in September. Nowadays, September is the month celebrated as the month the kids are back in school. Whether you call September kids-back-in-school-month or corn-harvesting-month, come out and celebrate the Geocaching month of when-the-ticks-aren't-so-bad-and-the-days keep-getting-shorter.
Everyone is welcome at this Mondays in Manassas event. Be sure to bring your appetite, your geocaching stories, and trackables to share.
