Welcome to the Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation Commission's 2017 Geocaching Adventure! This year, we have placed nine geocaches in our properties throughout the county. Your mission is to find them, note the code words listed inside each cache and, once you have found all nine caches, contact us via the Send Email option on Geocaching.com with your complete list of caches and related code words. Those geocachers who complete the adventure will receive a special collectible. But wait! There's more! One of our geocaches is a mystery cache. To find it, you'll need to collect the coordinate segments from three different caches. One of our 2017 caches is also a little more challenging than a traditional hide, so prepare to be challenged! If you're gunning to be our FTF this year, be sure to email us your list of code words as soon as possible! Now head outside and have a wonderful Adventure!
The 29-acre Albert J. Miller and Robert & Nancy Smith Preserve is located one mile southwest of Dexter. For such a compact area, the site contains a wide variety of high-quality habitats; the natural trail system winds through dry oak-hickory forest, wet areas of swamp white oak, and several small wetlands. The preserve serves as home to numerous reptiles and amphibians, and several species of wild birds summer here as well. As with all preserves, no dogs are permitted on the property. Please be sure to use the camouflage to keep this cache a fun and challenging hide for your fellow geocachers!
Congratulations to HelloLola and Nurse Nanna, the FTF this cache!
