One of the largest Provincial Parks in Alberta, Wabamun Lake Provincial Park was created because of the efforts of the Stony Plain Municipality and Joe Best. They bought the vacated land of Moonlight Bay, which led to the Alberta Government into designating the areas as a provincial park.
The park is nestled in the trees on the North East side of Wabamun Lake. With a sandy beach, boat launch, boardwalks, mountain biking/cycling, fishing and a boat load of other activities this makes Wabamun Lake Provincial Park an ideal place for families.
