Geocache Description:

Please exercise caution during hunting season as hunting is allowed in this park!

This cache is placed as a tribute to my late grandfather Paul Kraft; it is NOT at the posted coords, though the posted coords will take you to the exact type of place where he loved to spend summer weekends.  Although Grampy never geocached himself, he always asked Sarbara and I about our recent caching adventures (a particular favorite caching story was that of a certain Sisyphean cache down at Chestnut Ridge).  He was a gregarious, outgoing, fun-loving man who enjoyed fishing, camping, reading and above all, cribbage.  We called him the Cribbage Master because he was so hard to beat.

In order to solve this puzzle, you will simply need to add up the point values in the following hands below (the four cards on the left represent the cards in your hand; the card on the right represents the turn up card); for some of the hands you may have to do some light mathematics, indicated to the far right.  If you are a cribbage master, this will all be an easy task; it might be a bit tougher if you're not familiar with the game.

To get the final coords, use this formula combined with the hands shown below:

  N 42° 54.ABC W 078° 24.DEF

The cache is starting out stocked with useful items that my grandfather would have used in his various hobbies (and also a few random "old man items" that I picked up from the local hardware store... you know the type... little bits of this and that because it might come in handy someday).  It's in a pretty and serene area that I think he would've enjoyed.  :)  Have fun and enjoy becoming a cribbage master!
