Geocache Description:

This church micro replaces the recently archived one (same series number, different GC code)

A house at the bottom of Derry Hill had been registered for Independent worship in 1798 but whether they had any connection with the later Baptist chapel is unknown.

The Little Zoar chapel was built in 1814 and the names on the meeting house certificate are those of the Wiltshire and Panting families. Despite the secession of some members of the congregation in 1847, there were still attendances of 100 in the morning, 100 in the afternoon, and 40 in the evening services on Census Sunday in 1851.

The chapel is now Strict Baptist.
