Otok Pag broji tri ornitološka rezervata: "Velo blato" i "Malo blato" u Povljani te "blato Rogoza" u Kolanu.
Područje Velikog i Malog blata kod Povljane na Pagu posebno je značajno za seobu i zimovanje ptica. U ovim suhim i vrućim, mediteranskim područjima depresije sa slatkom vodom u Velikom blatu te slatkom i bočatom vodom u Malom blatu i njihova gusta močvarna vegetacija pružaju okrilje zanimljivim i brojnim ptičjim stanovnicima u vrijeme gniježđenja, selidbe i zimovanja. Posljednjim istraživanjima provedenih u sklopu projekta Javne ustanove, zabilježeno je 168 vrsta ptica. Često se mogu vidjeti jata crne liske, gnjurci, čaplje, patke njorke, podzviđaći i bijele žličarke. Dok Veliko blato predstavlja veliku otvorenu vodenu površinu.
Malo blato je zaštićeni ornitološki rezervat ptica močvarica u Hrvatskoj. Ornitološkim rezervatom proglašen je 1988. godine. Prostire se na površini od 462 hektra. Nalazi se na južnoj dijelu otoka Paga, 2 km od Povljane uz more, u dnu uvale Mlinice, 10 km od grada Paga. Do Malog blata može se doći glavnom cestom koja vodi prema gradu Pagu.
Malo blato ljeti presuši jer naslage močvarne flore zaguše život u vodi. Malo blato je depresija sa slatkom i boćatom vodom. Ovo je mjesto jedno je od najvažnijih mjesta gdje se gnijezdi ugrožena ptica grabljivica u Hrvatskoj eja livadarka. Tamo gnijezdi oko desetak parova te grabljivice koja svoja gnijezda savija na tlu.
Planira se proglasiti parkom prirode slivno područje jezera Velo blato i područje do Dinjišćarskog polja, što bi obuhvatilo i Povljansko polje te Malo blato za koje još nije definirano slivno područje.
Da bi došli do keša potrebno je ići 625m pod kutom od 160° od početnih koordinata da se ipak ne smetaju ptice u svome prirodnom okruženju. Za ključ se sagnite i malo razgledajte. Možda i uočite Eju livadarku (Circus pygargus) ako se dobro zagledate.
Pošto je ovo i keš sa razglednicama, prije nego ga potražite ponesite sa sobom razglednicu sa zalijepljenom markom i napisanom adresom. Nakon što pronađete keš razmijenite svoju razglednicu sa onom unutar keša i prije nego pošaljete napišite par riječi kolegi geokešeru. I kada se vratite kući sa odmora možda će vas čekati poruka koja će Vas podsjetiti na ovo divno mjesto.
Molim budite obazrivi jer ovo je područje ornitološki park i zaštićeno je, tako da ne ostavljajte smeće za sobom i čuvajte okoliš. Logbook i razglednica kao i pečat trebaju biti stavljeni u postojeću nepropusnu vrećicu. Vratite sve kako je i bilo. Za žig ponesite svoj jastučić sa tintom.

The island of Pag has three ornithological reserves: " Velo blato " and " Malo blato " in Povljana and " blato Rogoza " in Kolan.
The Velo blato and Malo blato area at Povljana on Pag is especially important for migration and wintering of birds. In these dry and hot Mediterranean areas, the depression with sweet water in the Velo blato and fresh and brackish water in the Malo blato and their dense wetland vegetation provides shelter to interesting and numerous bird populations during nesting, migration and wintering. The latest research carried out within the Public Institution project registered 168 species of birds. Often, you can see the flocks of black coots, grebes, herons, ferruginous ducks and common spoonbills. On the other hand, the Velo blato is a large open water surface.
Malo blato is a protected ornithological reserve for wading birds in Croatia. The Ornithological Reserve was proclaimed in 1988. It covers an area of 462 hectares. It is located in the southern part of the island of Pag, 2 km from Povljana by the sea, at the bottom of Mlinica bay, 10 km from the town of Pag. The Malo blato can be reached by the main road leading to the town of Pag.
In the summer, Malo blato dries out, because the deposits of swamp flora suffocate life in the water. Malo blato is a depression with fresh and brackish water. This is one of the most important places for the nesting of an endangered species of birds of prey in Croatia, the Montagu’s harrier. Approximately ten pairs of this bird nest there, at the ground.
There are plans to declare the Velo blato basin and the area to the Dinjišćarsko polje a nature park; this would include the Povljansko polje and Malo blato for which the basin area has not been defined yet.
To reach the cache it is necessary to go 625m with angle 160° from the starting coordinates so that birds are not disturbed in their natural surroundings. Finding a key will require some stooping/bowing and looking around. If you have a sharp eye, you might even notice a Montagu’s harrier. Please leave the cache as you find it. For the cachet you will need your own ink pad!
Since this is also an cache with the postcards, before you go looking for it, bring a postcard with a stamp and a written address. After you find the cache, exchange your postcard for the one inside of the cache and before sending it, write a few words to your geocacheer colleague. When you return home from vacation, you may be greeted by a message that will remind you of this wonderful place.
Please be careful, as this area is an ornithological reserve and is protected, so don't leave any garbage behind you and take care of the environment. Logbooks and postcard as well as seal should be placed in the existing water-proof bag.
