No final do século XIX, havia uma escassez de matéria-prima para manutenção e construção de ferrovias. Com o intuito de suprir a demanda de madeira para dormentes e carvão, a Companhia Paulista de Estradas de Ferro, criou Hortos Florestais, entre eles, o Horto Florestal Edmundo Navarro de Andrade, na cidade de Rio Claro, em homenagem a Edmundo Navarro de Andrade que, em 1914, trouxe da Austrália 144 espécies de eucalipto.
O Horto Florestal de Rio Claro, SP, foi criado em 1909. Andrade teve sua residência no Horto, fazendo do local centro de diversas pesquisas sobre o eucalipto, onde foram arquivados os resultados de seus trabalhos, dando origem ao Museu do Eucalipto em 1916.
A partir de 2002, pelo Decreto Estadual n. 46.819, o antigo Horto Florestal de Rio Claro foi classificado na categoria de Florestal, que visa o manejo sustentável dos recursos, a pesquisa e a visitação pública, tornando-se a FEENA (Floresta Estadual Edmundo Navarro de Andrade).
Criada em 1909, possui 2.230 hectares com a maior variedade de espécie de eucalipto do Brasil, o que a torna referência no cultivo e pesquisa da planta e a faz conhecida como “berço do eucalipto”. Entre outras atrações, possui o Museu do Eucalipto, criado pelo agrônomo Edmundo Navarro de Andrade. Originalmente a Floresta pertencia à CIA. Paulista de Estradas de Ferro, tendo sido transferida para a FEPASA na década de 70, época da estatização das vias férreas.
A partir de 1998 passou a ser administrada pelo Instituto Florestal da Secretaria de Estado do Meio Ambiente, através do Instituto Florestal.
Há belas paisagens, um lago onde se podem avistar cágados e jacaré, e belas vitória-régias.
Neste parque há trilhas de cooper, além de trilhas de mountain biking.
Aberto à visitação diariamente das 7 às 17h. Há estacionamento para carros e é necessária uma caminhada rápida até o cache.
O cache é pequena em uma bifurcação.

Open to visitation daily from 7am to 5:00 pm. There is parking availabe. It is necessary a short walking to the cache.
