Made of Portland stone, the memorial was built by Mr W J Nutty, and unveiled on 23 May 1920. It originally commemorated those lost from the village in the Great War. It now also commemorates those who gave their lives in the Second World War and Korean War.
The memorial remembers 18 men who gave their lives in the Great War, seven from the Second World War and one from the Korean War.
