Entre montes e vales, cortados por túneis e unidos com pontes, ergue-se uma das mais imponentes obras da engenharia ferroviária, composta por 20 túneis e 13 pontes em ferro.
Este troço, construído no final do século XIX e que ligava Barca d’Alva a La Fregeneda, fazia parte da Ligação Internacial do Pocinho a La Fuente de San Esteban e desde 1985 que os comboios deixaram de passar por aqui.
Este troço encontra-se atualmente ao abandono e tornou-se num dos percursos pedestres mais belos, contudo devido à falta de manutenção das infraestruturas temos de ter cuidado ao percorre-lo.
Este percurso desenrola-se entre a estação Espanhola de La Fregeneda e a estação Portuguesa de Barca D'Alva, numa extensão de aproximadamente 17km.

Between mountains and valleys, cut by tunnels and joined by bridges, stands one of the most impressive works of railway engineering, consisting of 20 tunnels and 13 iron bridges.
This section, built at the end of the 19th century and linking Barca d'Alva to La Fregeneda, was part of the Pocinho International Connection to La Fuente de San Esteban and since 1985 the trains have stopped passing here.
This section is currently abandoned and has become one of the most beautiful pedestrian routes, however due to the lack of maintenance of the infrastructure we have to be careful while traveling.
This route takes place between the Spanish station of La Fregeneda and the Portuguese station of Barca D'Alva, in an extension of approximately 17km.
