Geocache Description:

Little Dunmow is a village situated in rural Essex, in the vale of the River Chelmer about 3 miles (4.8 km) east-southeast of the town of Great Dunmow.

Little Dunmow formed the caput of a feudal barony the first holder of which was Ralph Baynard, as recorded by the Domesday Book (1087).

The Parish Church was founded in 1104 by Lady Juga Baynard.

The centre of the old village, which has just 99 dwellings, but this has been expanded with a further 850 dwellings on a former sugar beet factory site.

If anybody would like to expand this series please do. I would just ask that you let Smokeypugs know first so they can keep track of the Village Sign numbers and names to avoid duplication.
