Geocache Description:

The war memorial at Swaffham Bulbeck is a stone Celtic cross sitting on a plinth with a two stepped base.

The memorial was built by by Messrs. Goddard of Bury St Edmunds and H. & F. Stevens of Swaffham Bulbeck and it was unveiled on 16 January 1921, dedicated by Frederic Henry Chase, Bishop of Ely. It was paid for through public subscription. It is a Grade II Listed Building and was cleaned and repaired in 2010 with a grant from the War Memorials Trust.

The cache is NOT hidden at the posted co-ordinates, which are close to the war memorial. Please find the following numbers and work out the final co-ordinates based on:

N52° 14.(A–B)(A–4)(A+1) E000° 16.(C+3)(C–A)(B+2) where:

On the main memorial, A = number of letters in the SURNAME of the WWI serviceman at the top of the right hand column of names

On the metal plate at ground level just in front of the memorial, the time capsule was buried in 20BC

The actual cache is less than 250m away

If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Just-us-Two know first at justustwo1013@gmail.com so they can keep track of the memorial numbers and names to avoid any duplication.
